Brad Freeman is Overall-Champion
The only 20-years-old Brad Freeman won the overall-titel at the final of the Enduro-European-Championship in Harfsen / Netherlands with two clear victories day by day.
For an operation on his injured shoulder the Brit have had to leave the race in Latvia, where he scored no points! Thus is the reason he was “only” second in the junior-E2/E3-class behind the new champion Nicolas Pellegrinelli from Italy.
For the other italien, Guido Conforti, a third place in the day was enough to secure his title in the senior-E1-class in front of Jonathan Rosse from Switzerland.
A real crime thriller happend in the E2-class, where the defending champion Tom Sagar quit at the first day. On the morning of the second day the bike of the new leader Jaromir Romancik did not start in time – and the Czech had to start with already 10 seconds penality. A little bit groggy after his crash the day before he became only 4th in the class and misses the titel with six seconds to the German Marco Neubert, who already won the day one and was beaten at day two only by local hero Wesley Pittens.
With two win in the junior-E1-class Patrik Markvart took fortunatly the titel. Fortunatly, because the Czech had to organize his old bike from home, after his new bike was stolen two nights before the competition starts! The title for him was just the reward for his effort.
The 125-class für the young rider under 20 years seems to be firmly in the Italien hand: With two wins, day by day, Matteo Pavoni took the title in front of his fellow countrymen Andrea Verona and Lorenzo Macoritto.
Even in the team-champioship the italien are on top: “SA Racing” the title went to Italy as well as second place with the “Husavarna Osellini-Team”. After them the Germans with “Heikos Bad Boys”.
All other classes where already decided the day bevore.
In addition to the individual-European-Championship, the Nation-Championship was held this weekend.
The nation-cup was won by the Brits in front of the Chechs an host Netherland.
At the Juniors the Italiens took the title in front of Sweden and the Brits.
At the veterans host Netherland could take the place on top of the podium in front of Sweden and Finland.
The motoclub „Hamac“ in Harfsen has made a worthy season final with a real enduro-track and pretty lot of tests.
Thank you for following us this year and start with us to 2017 in Portugal!
First day of the final – First champions
Already at the first day of the final of the European-Enduro-Championship in Harfsen/Netherland the first Champions where crowned:
The Italian Maurizio Micheluz defended his title in the E3-class: With the big 4-stroke-Husqvarna nobody can reach him any more in the championship. „But in the narrow sections, between the many trees, sometimes the power feels much to much.“
Sebastian Krywult from Poland won the championship in the veteran-class with an other victory oft he day. That Poland took Krywolt to the trophy-team at the sixdays two weeks ago, shows how strong the 40 year “old” man is.
Compleatly unbeaten Jane Daniels took the titel in the women-class The Husqvarna-rider from England was able to defeet the strong Netherlands on their own, special terrain.
Even the day win in the overall from Brad Freeman could not prevent the titels: The Brit took the victory with zwo and a half minute lead in front of the other juniors Patrik Markvart from Czech and Jesper Börjesson from Sweden.
Behind them the first senior, the German Marco Neubert. After the technical failure from the reigning overall- and E2-class champion Tom Sagar from England, Neubert is fighting with the Czech Jaromir Romancik for the championship in the E2-Class.
With 90 km a lap and four tests in every of the three rounds, the times in the special-tests grow up to more than one hour and 24 minutes to the best – and nearly two hours to the slowest riders in the championship.
Final Countdown: Find the Enduro-European-Champion in the Netherlands
After six riding-days in the Enduro-European-Championship, the final will be held on Friday, 28th of October, and Saturday, 29th of October.
The place to be is in Harfsen, in the east of the Netherlands, where the organizing motoclub was perfect prepared.
For the riders there are three laps to go, each with four different special test, all together about 20 km a round. Attention, the Netherlands are not only with sandy tracks, most of the test will take place at the forests with many roots. The very first cross-test is directly at the paddock, easy to watch for all the teams and spectators.
Both days the competitors will make three laps and collect more than 250 km offroad.
So far, no champion has been crowned in any class:
In the overall there is the young british rider Brad Freeman in the leed, though he missed one race for an injury. But now the KTM-rider is back again and want to fight for the titel.
His rival will be the Czech Jaromir Romancik, who had won the last two races – and had just took the third place in the team-worldchampionship (ISDE) in Spain two weeks ago.
The Italien Nocolas Pellegrinelli must also be traded as a hot candidate: He could already have taken the lead by his fast riding – if he had not lost the control at a time-check.
In addition to the championships in the individual classes, there will be a competition for the nations too: The riders will not only fight for their own, but also for the nations ranking.
The opening ceremony, as well as driver and team presentation, take place on Thursday evening inside the big party tent on the ground.
Starting time on Friday and Saturday is 8:30 am in the morning and on Saturday evening there will be the price-giving-cermony in the party tent. After that there will take place the big celebration-party, the after-season-celebration with live musik from a band. A good opportunity to say goodbye to the season, because the next day is a long Sunday.
This year still the final had to take place in Harfsen at Friday and Saturday, the 28th and 29th of October. None titel in any class is decided yet – all decisions had to fall on thus weekend.
